Aligned with Devonport Airport's ongoing commitment to safety, commencing in early June, Devonport Airport will be conducting civil works around the precinct aligning with the DPO Master Plan.
As part of these civil works, old macrocarpa trees to the southeast of the Airport precinct will be removed. The removal will allow for underground civil works to be prepared and improved whilst removing a safety risk to the public from dead and falling branches.
Once the civil works have been completed, TasPorts will revegetate the area with native grasses and shrubs with walkways and seating.
The woodchips and trunks from the trees will be utilised in upcoming projects across the airport precinct.
