Officially opening to customers on Friday 3 July, Devonport's Qantas lounge now features a refreshed interior with a new colour palette inspired by the region's natural landscapes, modern furniture and improved seating options, new flooring and updated surfaces, and more charging points to support customers while they wait for their flights.

TasPorts CEO Captain Allan Gray said the new Qantas Lounge was a win-win for Devonport Airport and Tasmania’s North West.

“The refurbished Qantas Lounge reflects the strong partnership between TasPorts and Qantas and our shared commitment to continually improving the experience for passengers travelling through Devonport Airport,” said Captain Allan Gray.

“This investment enhances comfort, convenience and service for travellers and is another positive example of how we are working together to strengthen Devonport Airport’s role as the gateway to Tasmania’s North West.

“Devonport Airport is already one of Australia’s top 10 airports for on-time performance, and the new Qantas Lounge is another reason why Devonport Airport is the smart choice for travellers visiting Tasmania’s North West.”

QantasLink CEO Mark Dal Pra said the airline is continuing to invest in improving the experience for customers flying from the regions.

"Whether customers are stopping in for a quick coffee before a flight or settling in to get some work done, the lounge is an important part of the journey for many of our regional frequent flyers."

"Devonport is an important gateway to Tasmania's North West, and we're proud of the part we play in keeping this community connected. This investment will ensure our Tasmanian customers continue to have a great experience with us both on the ground and in the air."

Devonport Airport is one of Qantas's key Tasmanian ports, with almost 150,000 passengers travelling through the airport in FY 2026.

As part of its 15-year Devonport Airport Master Plan, TasPorts has already progressed a number of initiatives, including a refreshed Business Hub, landscaping, upgraded security measures, and more sustainable fuelling systems to support commercial and emergency aircraft.

Additional improvements across the airport precinct include the recent launch of EasyPark’s ticketless parking system, with upcoming works to deliver airside lighting upgrades, a redeveloped hire car precinct and the longer-term Terminal Precinct Upgrade.

These improvements reflect TasPorts’ ongoing commitment to supporting Tasmania’s connectivity and economic growth, ensuring Devonport Airport continues to meet the needs of business and leisure travellers.
