Packing your baggage

Are the items you’re packing safe to fly? Have you got oversized luggage?

Identifying dangerous goods

Dangerous goods are items or substances that, when transported by aircraft, are a risk to health, safety, property or the environment.

These can include obvious things like;

  • explosives
  • radioactive materials
  • flammable liquids
  • dangerous or volatile chemicals
  • strong acids
  • compressed gases
  • poisons

Everyday items that can cause problems include toiletries, aerosols, tools and lithium batteries.

It’s your responsibility to make sure what you’re packing doesn’t pose a risk to you and other passengers.
